Main Chandelier, Barr Al Jissah, Oman
A 12 metre high chandelier suspended over 2 floors.
The Project Brief
In the main foyer area within one of the 3 hotels at Barr Al Jissah, FOLI was tasked with creating a large 12m Chandelier suspended over two floors.
The chandelier was dressed in crystal which was made by Preciosa Lustry a company from the Czech Republic. The chandelier had a total of five tiers. On each tier we placed either one or two light sources depending on the amount of light needed. The points of light followed a circle just inside the crystal and the fittings were focused so as to wash colour down over the crystal pieces.
The fibre harnesses were made of 5mm glass and each tail had a UFO P17T fitting which was then attached to a stainless steel plate to hold it in place.
The light sources were 150w DMX units, allowing full control. This gave us the flexibility to run each tier individually and we were able to create an individual changing of colour for each level over the two floors. This was combined with a twinkling effect to bring the feature to life.
Equipment Used
Light sources
150W QFX light sources provided illumination to the chandelier.
Fibre
5mm diameter glass endlit fibre was used to illuminate the chandelier.
End Fittings
One P17T fitting was attached to each fibre tail and secured with a backnut.
