Star Effect Ceiling, Barr Al Jissah, Oman
A simulated night sky effect in this exclusive restaurant.
The Project Brief
The restaurant was constructed to give the impression that you were actually eating out under the night stars.
The whole ceiling was covered in PMMA endlit fibre points, made up of a mixture of 0.75mm and 1mm sizes. Each fibre tail was fitted with a small acrylic bullet lens. There were approximately 8 points per square metre installed to give a realistic starry night effect.
The light sources were fully programmable 150w DMX Metal Halide units. Only white light output with a twinkle effect was used.
Equipment Used
Light sources
150W QFX light sources provided the light for the star points.
Fibre
Star points were illuminated with end lit 0.75mm and 1mm PMMA fibre.
End Fittings
One acrylic bullet lens was used to create each star point.
